Privacy policy

FolioAI provides FolioAI from Australia. This policy explains what information FolioAI handles, why it is needed, and the choices available to account holders.

Information we collect

We collect your email address, password hash, account activity, purchase records, and the booklet choices you submit. A student name and topic may appear in a generated booklet. Security logs can also contain request times, network addresses, browser information, and a one-way identifier used for rate limiting. Please use only the minimum student information needed, such as a first name or nickname.

How we use it

We use this information to authenticate your account, create and store booklets, take payments, prevent misuse, provide support, and operate and secure the service. We do not sell personal information.

Service providers and overseas processing

FolioAI uses service providers including Render for hosting, Supabase for database and file storage, Stripe for payments, a configured email provider, and an AI provider such as Google for generation. This can involve processing or storage in the United States and other countries where those providers operate. Providers receive only the information needed to perform their service and operate under their own privacy and security terms.

Payments

Stripe processes card payments. FolioAI receives transaction status, purchase amount, customer identifiers, and limited payment details such as card brand and last digits where Stripe makes them available. FolioAI does not receive or store your complete card number.

Children

FolioAI accounts and purchases are intended to be managed by a parent, guardian, tutor, or other authorised adult. Do not submit sensitive information about a child. Use a first name or nickname only. Generated materials are educational practice aids and are not a substitute for professional advice, diagnosis, or a school assessment.

Retention and security

We retain account and purchase information while the account remains active and as reasonably required for operations, legal obligations, disputes, and fraud prevention. FolioAI limits downloadable files to the retention count shown in My booklets. We use access controls, signed downloads, password hashing, encrypted network connections, and other safeguards, but no internet service can promise absolute security.

Your choices

You can download an account data export and permanently delete the account from the Account page. Deleting the FolioAI account removes its application data and stored files. Payment processors or business accounting records may retain transaction information where required by law or their own legal obligations. To ask for access, correction, or help with a privacy concern, contact folioaitutorsyou@gmail.com.

Changes and complaints

We may update this policy as FolioAI changes. The latest version and date are published here. Contact us first if you have a concern and include enough detail for us to investigate. We aim to acknowledge a privacy complaint promptly and respond within 30 days. If you remain dissatisfied, you may have the right to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner or another regulator that applies to you.
